Axis locks

Hold a Line or Polyline leg on a plan axis with an arrow key. The guide shows the direction the leg follows.

To hold a direction in plan

  1. Choose Line or Polyline in 2D. Keep the pointer over the plan canvas, including when working in Split.
  2. Tap Arrow Right for the red axis, or Arrow Left for the green axis. You can choose the lock before placing the first point, or while drawing a leg.
  3. Click to place the leg's end. The end follows the held axis through the leg's start, with a guide along that direction.
  4. To change direction while drawing, tap the other arrow. Tap the same arrow again to release the lock.

Choosing a lock before the first click prepares the direction of the first leg. Place its start where you want it, then move the pointer to set its length.

Switching or releasing a lock updates the leg at the pointer's current position, even if the pointer is still. Tap the key once for each change.
