Roofs

Draw the footprint, finish it, and Linea builds the roof over it. Pitch, overhang and eaves set the shape.

To draw a roof

  1. Click Roof on the Build toolbar.
  2. In Parameters, pick a roof type and a shape: Gable, Hip, Flat or Lean-to.
  3. Set Pitch (0 to 85°) and Overhang. Switch on Custom eaves height to reveal an Eaves slider (1 to 6 m).
  4. Click each corner of the footprint, or Pick wall and then a wall to follow its edge. Close the loop.
  5. Click Finish, choose the Level and Offset in the prompt, and click Confirm.

The sketch toolbar for a roof has the same tiles as for a floor: Select, Line, Rectangle, Arc, Pick wall, Align, Join corners, Offset, Trim, Split, Join at corner, Cancel and Finish.

To change the slope of each edge

Once the roof loop is closed, an Edge pitches row has a Set all to button that applies one pitch to every edge.

To edit a roof afterwards

Select it. Edit perimeter in the Perimeter section redraws the outline, and the Segments section's Add Segment adds another.
