Platforms and pads

A platform is a one-off earthwork such as a terrace, a lawn or a car park. A pad is the ground cut or filled to a building level's floor.

Platforms

  1. Press Sculpt terrain, then set Mode to Platform.
  2. Set a Level, or use the eyedropper to pick it from the ground.
  3. Choose the edge, Retaining or Batter. With Batter, set how many metres of horizontal run per metre of cut or fill.
  4. Click each corner of the outline on the ground and close the loop, then click Apply on the bottom toolbar.

Pads

  1. Set Mode to Pad.
  2. Under Choose a level, pick the building level.
  3. Choose the edge and draw the outline as above, then click Apply.

A pad is bound to its level: move the building or change the level's elevation and the pad follows. While Mode is Pad, the tray lists Pads on this site, each with a Draw on plot button that lets you work on that pad's house. Double-clicking the ground inside a pad does the same, and a chip then reads Drawing on the pad's name.
