Wall types and build-ups
A wall type is a named build-up: the layers of a wall, their materials and their thicknesses. Floors, roofs and ceilings use the same editor.
To make or change a wall type
- Arm the Wall tool and open Parameters.
- Click Edit type to change the armed type, or New wall type… to start one.
- Name the type in the Name field.
- Build up the Layers table. Its columns are #, Function, Layer, Material, Framing, Spacing, Structural and Thickness.
- Click OK. A type you've just saved is armed for your next wall.
Insert layer, Duplicate layer, Delete layer, Move layer up and Move layer down sit above the table, and each layer takes a name in the Layer name field. Class is External or Partition, Cavity closers is On or Off, and the type itself can be duplicated or deleted from the same modal.
To choose how a layer hatches in section
Pick a hatch material in the layer's Material column. Need one that isn't listed? Choose New hatch material… at the foot of the list; Hatches covers that dialog.
To change a wall that's already drawn
Right-click the wall and choose Change wall type, then pick from the list.
