Drawing with the Pencil

Pencil draws lines on the ground or on a face, and closes them into faces.

  1. Switch to Massing and click Pencil.
  2. Click the ground or a face to start a line, then click to add points.
  3. Close back on the start and the outline becomes a face. Land on a face's own edge and the line cuts that face.
  4. Double-click or press Enter to end the line.

The prompt takes an Angle and a Length, plus a Rise when one applies. Along an existing edge it asks for the distance along that edge. A DXF underlay is magnetic to the pencil; a photograph or other image underlay you trace by eye.
