Terrain from a survey

A survey with spot heights or contours can build the terrain directly.

  1. On the Site row's Survey tab, click Import topo…. It opens the ordinary CAD import; see Importing a DWG or DXF.
  2. When the import finds elevation points or contours, a toast says so and offers Build terrain. Click it.
  3. In Build terrain from survey?, choose how to Skin the area: Survey extent, Terrain Perimeter or Draw a boundary….
  4. Click Build terrain.

If anything looks like an unusual reading, a Temper to the surrounding ground checkbox appears. When more than one survey drawing is present, Drawings lists each with its point count. Afterwards the Survey tab shows the source, boundary and Points in drawing, with a Rebuild terrain button.
