Importing an IFC model
Bring in an IFC model from another tool as a new building of Linea's own walls, doors, windows and levels. The file is read in your browser.
- Click Import in the Files row, then Building (IFC), and pick an .ifc file. Progress shows while it reads.
- Check What we found: a summary of buildings and levels, then walls, doors, windows, columns, floors, stairs and roofs where present.
- If it looks sideways, click Landed on its side? Try the other orientation.
- Click Add to drawing. The panel confirms Added to your model.
The building is added beside what you've drawn, as a new building on your project's site. Doors and windows keep their link to their walls. After adding, Landed on its side? Re-import with the other orientation removes the buildings just added and imports again the other way up. Choose a different file goes back before you commit.
Files up to 100 MB import. Linea reads the file in your browser, so it stays on your computer.
