Your computer
Linea runs in your browser on Windows and macOS, so there is nothing to install. Here is what the computer needs to run it comfortably.
For everyday models
- A four-core processor from the last five or six years.
- 16 GB of memory. 8 GB is enough for small models.
- A graphics chip from the last five years. Integrated graphics such as Intel Iris Xe or an Apple M-series chip is fine here.
- A display 1280 pixels wide or more, with a mouse or trackpad.
- A steady internet connection. Your models, materials and library are stored online, and Linea saves as you work.
For large models and rendered views
A dedicated graphics card helps once a model grows, and 16 GB of memory or more keeps it smooth. A large IFC file is read in your browser, so it needs more memory than a small one.
Window size
With a mouse or trackpad, Linea opens its full editor in a window 1024 pixels wide or more. Open it in anything narrower and you get the phone view instead (see Phones and tablets). Widen the window and reload to get the editor.
These are cautious first figures. Smaller machines may well cope with everyday models.
