Starting a model
Everything you draw lives in a model, and Linea saves it as you go. Here's how to start one and what to fill in first.
- Open Linea. Your models appear as a grid in the lobby, and the dashed New model tile is always first.
- Click New model. The editor opens on an empty site.
- Type a name into the title bar, where it reads Untitled model until you do.
- Open the Project Info row in the tray and fill in Project, Client, Drawn by and Checked by on the Details tab.
Those details are set once and flow onto the title block of every sheet. Paper size, scale, date and drawing number stay on the sheet itself.
The lobby
The header has a Search models box, a Sort models control (Last edited, Name A–Z or Created) and an Import button for bringing a file in straight away. Each model has a menu with Open, Pin, Rename, Duplicate and Delete. Delete a model by mistake and a toast offers to restore it.
Saving
Linea autosaves about a second after you stop changing things, and the title bar reads Saved, Saving… or Unsaved changes as it goes. If you want a copy as a file on your own machine, see Saving, opening and copies.
